With the rapid development of high technology industry, the application of kaolin expands continuously. The market demand is very strong. Now, we interview the expert—Mr. Wang, about its purification and whitening processing.

• Host: In fact, we are not a stranger for kaolin. Our common ceramic is one of its applications. But for the other applications, we are not very familiar. Can you relate it simply?
• Mr. Wang: I'm glad! Kaolin's application is very wide. Except we all know fields, it is also used in plastics, paint, cosmetics, soap, medicine, textile, petroleum, chemical, building materials, national defense and other industrial sectors. Almost everywhere has its shadow.
• Host: Oh. We know. It is everywhere. Kaolin usually contains some impurities. So its purification process is very important. What is its purification process?
• Mr. Wang: Its purification degree is different, according to its different application. When the product quality requirements are high, we mostly use the wet purification and beneficiation. Its basic processes have ore preparation, pulping, sand removing, grading, whitening and dewatering, filtering, drying and storage process. The purification equipment can use spiral classifier, hydrocyclone, flotation machine and other machines.
• Host: According to your said just now, after grading is the whitening processing. As far as I know, whiteness is one of the main parameters of kaolin process performance. The kaolin with high purity is white. So what methods are there?
• Mr. Wang: Whitening traditional methods are physical method. For example, hand sorting method, water washing, magnetic separation, flotation method. These are used in magnetic separator, flotation machine, or other equipment. In addition, there is chemical method, such as acid leaching process, reduction, oxidation, oxidation reduction method, calcination whitening etc. These are combined with drugs and devices for whitening.
